Chiropractic Education
Doctors of Chiropractic are physicians with extensive education. Many would be surprised to learn of the breadth of classes Chiropractic students are required to take. The following list gives a sample of the usual course of studies that Chiropractors must take in order to graduate. Many of these topics are required as a series of classes encompassing several trimesters (as a part one, part two, part three) equaling a year or more for those particular topics. In addition, more than a year of internships are required prior to graduation. In order to be eligible for licensing Chiropractors must pass a series of four rigorous national boards and a physiotherapy board. To practice Acupuncture in Missouri and many other states Chiropractors must also take a rigorous Acupuncture national board. After obtaining a Chiropractic license, Chiropractors must attend a set minimum number of continuing education hours every year in specified topics in order to maintain their licenses.
